OUR OFFICE

Of the many losses sustained during Hurricane Katrina, the destruction of the historical buildings along the Mississippi Gulf Coast may be the most tragic.  The members of our firm realized that protection and restoration of the remaining historical buildings would become a cornerstone of our recovery.  Therefore, we decided to purchase and restore one of downtown Gulfport’s architectural treasures instead of constructing new offices for our firm.

In 2006, we acquired the Aubert Motor Car Company Building on 25th Avenue in Gulfport.  Our building was originally designed in the Spanish Revival style by the talented Gulfport Engineer/Architect Firm of Shaw & Woleben.  In 1928-1929, construction was completed and the only Dodge Brothers Motor Car dealership in South Mississippi moved to its new location.  In 1947, Pringle Motors, Inc. acquired the building and it operated a Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge dealership from this location until the 1960’s.  The building was converted into a furniture store at that time and several businesses have operated from this location over the past 40 years.

VBW has spent the two years placing our building on the Historic Registry and obtaining approval of our restoration plans from the Federal and Mississippi Departments of Archives and History.   Renovation of our building is almost complete.  We are hoping to move in this spring.  We have posted a picture of our building in its condition prior to renovations and will post additional pictures as we progress.
